Antenna Design Engineer

About the Role

Core Focus: Design, electromagnetic modeling, and optimization of RF antenna systems.
Key Scope: Prototype assembly, precision laboratory tuning, and field test measurement of antenna parameters.

SPE “Athlon Avia”, a full-cycle Ukrainian research and production enterprise and an industry leader in unmanned aerial systems (UAS), is seeking a skilled Antenna Design Engineer to join our team as we scale our R&D capabilities.

Core Responsibilities

Antenna Assembly & Fine-Tuning: Prototype fabrication, integration of antenna systems into UAV platforms, and precision tuning using specialized microwave (RF/SHF) measurement tools.
Design & Optimization: Design, model, and optimize high-performance antenna systems.
Electromagnetic Simulation: Perform 3D electromagnetic modeling and field simulation.
Technical Documentation: Draft engineering documentation, manufacturing specs, and technical protocols.
Testing & Measurement: Conduct parameter testing and verification in laboratory and field settings.
Continuous Improvement: Propose architectural and technological improvements for existing antenna solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with mechanical engineers, electronics designers, and production teams.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Radio Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
Professional Experience: Hands-on experience in antenna design (1–2+ years preferred).
Simulation Skills: Strong understanding of antenna calculation, design methods, and EM simulation techniques.
Measurement Equipment: Practical proficiency with RF measurement tools (Vector Network Analyzers, signal generators, antenna test ranges).
RF Principles: Solid grasp of radio wave propagation principles and RF fundamentals.
Key Traits: High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and an innovative approach to problem-solving.
