Core Focus: Creating, structuring, and maintaining technical documentation for products and engineering workflows.

SPE “Athlon Avia”, a full-cycle Ukrainian research and production enterprise and an industry leader in unmanned aerial systems (UAS), is seeking a skilled Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist to join our team as we scale our technological ecosystem.

We are looking for a Technical Writer to take ownership of product documentation. This key role ensures process transparency, smooth cross-team collaboration, and comprehensive documentation clarity for partners, clients, and internal development teams.

Core Responsibilities

Documentation Development: Author and maintain user guides, API documentation, technical descriptions, and internal engineering protocols.
Standards & Compliance: Implement and enforce standardized documentation guidelines across the organization.
Engineering Collaboration: Partner closely with developers and engineers to gather up-to-date technical information.
Release Management: Update documentation in sync with product releases, feature updates, and software iterations.
Localization Support: Participate in internationalization (i18n, gettext) and localization processes.
Architecture Visualization: Create clear diagrams, flowcharts, and system architecture schematics.
Knowledge Base Auditing: Conduct audits of the existing knowledge base to optimize structure, readability, and information accuracy.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

Hard Skills:

Confluence Mastery: Confident usage of Confluence (space structure, templates, macros, permission management).
Jira Integration: Experience with Jira and embedding documentation into active Agile/SDLC workflows.
Technical Literacy: Solid understanding of software architecture, the SDLC, and API fundamentals.
Knowledge Architecture: Proven experience building and organizing technical knowledge bases.
Technical Writing Standards: Experience applying industry-standard technical writing principles.
English Proficiency: Professional reading and writing skills for drafting technical documentation.

Nice to Have:

Basic programming knowledge (Python or C).
Version control experience with Git (Docs-as-Code approach).
Diagramming & visualization tools (Draw.io, Lucidchart, Miro).
Understanding of software localization frameworks (i18n, gettext).
Experience working within Agile / Scrum team environments.

Core Competencies:

Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
Experience conducting SME (Subject Matter Expert) interviews with technical leads.
Information architecture design skills.
Ability to read and analyze code snippets.
Proficiency in Markdown authoring.
