SPE “Athlon Avia”, a full-cycle Ukrainian research and production enterprise developing advanced UAV technologies, is seeking a skilled Process Engineer (Service & Prototype Assembly) to oversee the development of assembly documentation for experimental prototypes and service operations as our production capabilities scale.

Core Responsibilities

  • Process Development: Design and implement technological assembly processes for new engineering projects and prototype units.
  • CAD Analysis & DFM Feedback: Analyze 3D CAD models and prepare engineering reports with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) recommendations for the design department.
  • Assembly Process Planning: Sequence component and sub-assembly workflows, determining optimal joining, fastening, and bonding techniques.
  • Quality Control: Supervise assembly stages to ensure sub-assemblies and final products conform to engineering specifications and tolerance standards.
  • Tooling & Equipment Selection: Identify and select assembly tooling, torque equipment, fixtures, and specialized assembly benches.
  • Jigs & Fixture Planning: Plan, specify, and request custom assembly jigs and auxiliary fixtures.
  • Process Documentation: Draft technological routing sheets, standard operating procedures (SOPs), assembly flowcharts, fastening sequences, and torque specifications.
  • Labor Time Norming: Perform preliminary time-motion studies and labor norming during the assembly of initial experimental prototypes.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Review, update, and audit technical documentation following engineering design changes (ECNs).
  • Feedback Loop & Engineering Revisions: Provide direct feedback to design engineers regarding assembly bottlenecks; actively participate in design modifications to improve assembly ergonomics and serviceability.

Candidate Qualifications & Experience

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Multidisciplinary Understanding: Strong grasp of manufacturing processes across mechanics, assembly, composite materials, and electronics integration.
  • Process Documentation: Proven experience creating technological routing sheets, assembly processes, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Technical Standards: Solid knowledge of engineering drawing standards, GD&T, fit, and tolerance limits.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SolidWorksMS Excel, and Google Docs.
  • Key Traits: Analytical mindset, attention to detail, structured workflow, and ability to work in close alignment with production floor technicians and design engineers.

Experience Level:

  • 1+ years of experience as a Process Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Practical background in manufacturing environments, electro-mechanical assembly, or hardware integration.
  • Nice to Have: Prior experience in MilTech, Aerospace, Aviation, Robotics, or Advanced Manufacturingsectors.
